In 2015, Finland was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest by the punk group Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät (shortened PKN). Although the group dissolved in 2016, they have made a small comeback in a slightly different business field. On 24th April 2018, the former PKN members celebrated the opening of their new shop and art gallery, which carries the name Pertin Valinta. The shop is situated in the Vallila district of Helsinki.
All the members of the group were present at the opening and the atmosphere was happy and almost cozy. People seemed genuinely interested in the products for sale as well as chatting with the PKN members. Pertti Kurikka himself appeared as a scary character nicknamed Kalevi Helvetti.
The shop offers various products for sale: art, photos, handicrafts and records. There is also a good selection of PKN merchandise available. Pertin Valinta will arrange art workshops and deliver the work of Finnish outsider artists to the international audience.
