A broken heart is all that’s left
DUNCAN LAURENCE, Eurovision 2019
For the first time in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest an edition of the contest has been cancelled. The spread of COVID-19 and the restrictions made by governments across Europe have made it impossible to conduct the event as planned.
In addition to the cancellation of Eurovision 2020, EBU also stated that next year’s contest will not “open up” to songs selected for 2020. According to the rules a song cannot participate, if it has been released before September 1 the previous year.
During times like these, we need Eurovision more than ever – to give our lives a more cheerfull touch and for a while to forget about the terrible crisis in the world.
Our thoughts and sympathy also go out to the 41 artists, who worked hard for this and who lost the chance to represent their country and perform in front of 200 million viewers.
As a reaction to this, we decided to find our own unofficial winner of 2020. We call it The “Good Evening Europe Song Contest 2020“. And we invite everyone to participate – and share with your #Eurovision Friends across the world.
Good Evening Europe! It’s time for the first Semi Final……..
